GUNDAM GLOBAL CHALLENGE G.I.A. have begun accepting submissions for the GUNDAM GLOBAL CHALLENGE project as of July 31st.
GUNDAM GLOBAL CHALLENGE, dedicated to making the 18m life-size Gundam move for Mobile Suit Gundam's 40th anniversary in 2019, will accept both engineering proposals aimed at moving the Gundam itself in its "Real Entertainment" category and visual proposals aimed at reproducing its motion in a VR space in is "Virtual Entertainment" category.
Proposals, whether for the entire project or aimed at individual engineering problems, materials requirements, or systems, will be accepted through February 27th, 2015.
The GUNDAM GLOBAL CHALLENGE Leaders Board, an independent panel of experts including Mobile Suit Gundam director Yoshiyuki Tomino, Waseda University professor and vice president Shuji Hashimoto, and more, will review the proposals, and their choices will be made public in August 2015.
Individuals and groups whose proposals are accepted will have the opportunity to join as GUNDAM GLOBAL CHALLENGE members, with access to development and incentive funding as well as a say in further planning.
After selection, an open platform will be established to solicit further refinements to the chosen ideas. Review and compilation of these refinements will lead to the creation of a "Basic Plan", scheduled to be announced in Fall 2016.
GUNDAM GLOBAL CHALLENGE, a grand project drawn together not just from Japan but the entire world, begins its progress toward completion in the summer of 2019. Don't miss its development!

The 18-meter-high, life-sized Gundam statue was constructed in 2009. Its massive, towering form inspires viewers to see the the potential their dreams hold. And for Gundam's 40th Anniversary in 2019, they will move Japan, and the entire world.
