Chuck out Gundam Breaker for PS3 in the beta!

Gundam Breaker, due out for PS3 this summer from Namco Bandai Games, is getting a beta release!

Gundam Breaker, based on Gunpla model kits, lets you take apart your foes and customize your own mobile suit like you never have before, all while taking on massive foes at the very limits of scale differences!

Let's look at what you'll be able to try out in the free beta:



■ Play through a stage, from tutorial to boss fight!
In Gundam Breaker, you take control of a Gunpla kit and challenge missions.
The beta includes an introduction-stage-boss fight set.

▲ Start out in the VR Hangar. Walk around as your avatar, accept a mission, and then launch controlling your very own Gunpla!

▲ The tutorial mission places you in control of a starter GM in the jungle.
Get a feel for the controls while taking down enemy Gunpla and collecting parts.

▲ During the main stage, fight through a Gunpla workshop, scaling a table as high as any mountain! In this stage, you'll be defendin an objective.
The enemies are getting tougher, so it's time to customize your Gunpla!

▲ Finally, a boss fight against a massive Perfect Grade kit.
Use your parts, or prepare to be one-shotted!

■ Master the controls and special attacks!
As you progress through the game, more missions will become available.
Sharpening your skills is the beat way to ensure smooth progress.

▲ It all begins with the basics. There's no time to think about what button does what, you have to know!

▲ There are both "A" and "B" types of both ranges and melee attacks. Let's look at your options as a Gundam with Zaku arms:
Melee A is a quick horizontal chop with a heat hawk, and Melee B is a vertical hack with a knock-up effect. Follow it up with a combo!

▲ Ranged A is a burst from the Zaku Machine Gun, and Ranged B is sweeping fire from side to side. Use it to clear out enemy waves!

▲ Option Gear uses the vulcans attached to your head.

▲ Use the special "EX Action" move to wipe out your foes!

Be careful that you're not removing your bread-and-butter attacks when you remove a part. No head? No vulcan! And you can't lock on either. But even without a main camera—!

■ Clear missions to earn rewards!
As you clear missions, you'll earn rewards. Check how you did on the "Results" screen!

▲ The "Learning Computer" build into your Gunpla levels up as you earn experience. The further you upgrade, the better the parts you can bolt on!

▲ Certain weapons unlock EX Actions when you earn enough experience. They''re extremely powerful, so try your best to puck one up!

▲ After you finish a mission, you'll pick up all the parts you knocked off—minus whatever it takes to pay your repair bill. Play cautious, and win big!

▲ Earn Ace Points by fulfilling secondary objectives during missions. Pick up enough, and you'll unlock decals for customization!

■ Faster! Stronger! Awesomer! Swap and paint parts!
Later missions crank up the difficulty, so you'll want to customize your own Gunpla to put up a fight with the parts you've collected.

▲ Parts can be swapped out and colored individually. You can upgrade your stats, your looks, or both. Add highlights or repaint the whole kit, it's up to you!

▲ You can even add gloss, weathering, or chipping, just like if you were building a real kit.

▲ As you build up parts, you'll gain skill with models and increase your Builder Level. The higher your Builder Level, the more customization techniques you can learn, and the better parts you get when you kitbash.
