High school students from around the world performed at Tokyo Meeting, and we have a report!
Energetic performances, cultural exhibits, and even a tea ceremony!
Diver City Tokyo, home to the life-sized Gundam, hosted the “Tokyo Meeting” international fair at its Festival Plaza and Symbol Promenade Park on June 19th.
The event, the first in the Tokyo Gundam Project 2016 series intended to encourage development of the bayside area and of global talent, features performances and cultural exhibits by Japanese high schoolers and foreign exchange students. Large crowds, including many foreign tourists, turned out to enjoy the festivities.
▲ Student activities included the Japanese tea ceremony along with displays by exchange students organized by the the TIEC.
▲ Exchange students from around the world played traditional instruments and appeared in traditional dress on stage.
▲ Japan's students drew a crowd too!
This year’s second Tokyo Meeting, also a part of the Tokyo Gundam Project 2016, will feature events like a smartcard tap rally. Stay tuned for info on upcoming projects!
